THE PROGRAMMABLE ELECTRONIC TOY VEHICLE

Created in 1979, Bigtrak became an enormously popular and coveted toy for youngsters of a wide age range. Probably the first of its type, and incredibly advanced for its time, this six wheeled tank is back to entertain and amuse a new generation. Bigtrak can remember up to 16 commands, programmed into the control panel on its back; press go and it will perform them in sequence. Movement is governed by the simple use of numbers, each unit being a length of forward or backward movement. The turning, also simply controlled by the use of numbers, is very precise - based on a clock face, a turn of 60 is a 360 degree turn. Pausing can be built into its sequence and 'firing' - flashing of the blue light 'laser' accompanied by futuristic shooting sounds. With a little planning and experimentation Bigtrak can be sent on complex fantasy lunar excursions! We anticipate that this will hold retro appeal for those who remember it from the 80's, and teach basic programming and convey the excitement of robotic space exploration to a new generation.
