Each of the 24 keys is played under your footsteps, and the mat allows you to play more than one key at a time so with practice you can reproduce complex chords. The record function allows you to programme a 80 note sequence - stored until replaced by a new recording - which can then be played in the background as you play 'live' on top. Choose the instrument desired from eight options (including piano, harp and accordion), and a demo mode includes ten pre-recorded example tunes, each activated by stepping on a different key. One last 'note': We advise you use this on a carpeted floor; we learnt to our cost that a relatively friction-less polished floor is bad news when attempting a sliding scale!
