Superb, illuminated globe. Look and learn during the day or, when night falls, simply flick the switch to view the mountains and valleys back-lit with glorious light. The amount of detail on the globe is quite impressive, with countries depicted in contrasting colours, capital cities defined by population size, and it even shows the ocean currents. The half meridian is made from transparent plastic, allowing you to easily approximate various latitudes whilst not disrupting the overall effect when illuminated. The mains-powered globe has a reasonably long power cable with a switch fitted part-way down so you don't need to turn it on and off at the wall socket.
