Control buttons on the 10cm plastic violin allow you to select one of several programmed tunes, which you 'play' by drawing the miniature bow across the strings, as with the real thing. Sound is produced only while the bow makes contact, so you can play staccato by touching the strings very briefly or draw notes out by holding the bow down, and you choose the speed. Alternatively it can be set to play unaided, and comes on a keychain so you can always keep it to hand. It is very clever, an astonishing novelty which will fascinate almost anyone of any age.
