The wooden Japanese Puzzle Box is a traditional curiosity which has entertained several generations. Unfortunately they are so labour-intensive, and Japanese wages are so high, that they have more or less priced themselves out of Western markets and are rarely seen. We would hardly claim ours to be 'cheap', but they come direct from the manufacturer at the lowest price we can economically achieve. This 11cm version is beautifully finished with the original mosaic design, a covetable thing just on the basis of its appearance. The top, bottom, and both two-section ends must be gently slid in the prescribed sequence and direction nine times before the lid can finally be persuaded to open. Illustrated instructions are provided. It's something to treasure and marvel at for a life-time.
